Goodfield Daily
Trail guides, difficulty ratings, and seasonal access notes for day hikes and multi-day routes in Canadian provincial parks.
What this site covers
Goodfield Daily publishes route guides for hiking trails in Canadian provincial parks. Each guide draws on publicly available information from the relevant provincial park authority, published trip reports, and topographic mapping data. The guides cover three areas of practical concern for hikers:
- Trail difficulty — based on the official rating system used by the park authority, with additional notes on the specific factors that influence the rating (elevation gain, terrain type, route length, technical sections).
- Gear considerations — itemised by category, with notes on why each item matters for the specific trail. No affiliate links or product recommendations.
- Seasonal access — summary of when the trail is open, when it is at its best, and what conditions to expect at different times of year.
Sources and accuracy
Trail data is sourced from official provincial park websites (Ontario Parks, BC Parks, Alberta Parks) and from publicly available topo mapping. Distance and elevation figures come from official park documentation where available; in cases where official figures differ across sources, the most conservative estimate is used.
Trail conditions change. Storms, washouts, closures, and wildlife management can affect access on short notice. The information on this site reflects conditions as of the listed update date. Always check directly with the park authority before planning a trip.
